Paranormal   Encounters
In  &  Around  Wadley
The full moon shines through the lonely pines trees in the damp, foggy
Alabama forest on this night. Here the veil between this world and the
realm of the departed is at it's thinnest. You know there are always strange
events near the slow rolling waters of the Tallapoosa River in East
Alabama...
As you travel the dark winding trail that leads you deeper and deeper into
the forest, the sudden screech of the owl alarms all the other creatures of
the night that lurk so close and so silently around you. Your heart begins
to pound as you hear muffled foot steps crunching in the dead, dry leaves.
Large vampire bats swoop down toward you and you can feel 'eyes of the
night' watching your every move! Then the lonely howl of a coyote echoes
through out the enchanted forest..........
But You dont have to journey into the darkness to encounter spirits,
ghosts, haints, or unseen forces in our neck of the woods. Just settle
back and read these true ghostly tales the Suthrn Girls have
encountered
The Fall Equinox...September 21
{ These Hot, Humid, Muggy Days Won't Last Forever}
Beginning in September each year, you begin hearing a lot about the Fall Equinox. Many people have heard of it, but have no idea
what it is. We're gonna try to explain....
The year is divided into four (4) seasons. Each season has a reason. September 21 which is the Fall Equinox marks the beginning of
Fall. Fall to me is the most beautiful season of the year. This is the season the Great Creator splashes those magnificent bright
colors from His painting palette on all the leaves. This day the sun reaches its mid point in the sky. The hours of daylight on this day
and the hours of night time are equal.  The Fall Equinox marks the change from the light half of the year, Spring and Summer, to the
dark half of the year, Fall and Winter. From this day until spring there will be more darkness each day than light.
The Fall Equinox was called by some, (Native American Indians and others as well), as Mabon. Now as with the other seasons, it is a
time for great celebration! Celebration for what the planet, Mother Earth has done. She has given birth! Yes, in a sense. She has
brought forth her bounty of food and so generously given it to us! Since the cool mornings of spring just a few short weeks ago, the
tiny seeds we planted have sprouted and grown. The hot summer months and the rains let them produce to their finest. It is now time
for Mother Earth and her plant kingdom to rest.  It is now a time for harvest, appreciation, reflection, and preparation for the coming
darkness of the cold days of winter.
And speaking of harvest we humans will be harvested also someday. Yep...the Circle Of Life. We're born, we grow, we learn, live
and raise a family, we die, and  return to the earth. Our parents did this as will our children and so on and on.
We must be ready for that harvest too! To do that you need to share with your community, give back to those who have helped you,
perform random acts of goodness and kindness to friends, family, strangers and especially to those less fortunate than yourself. If
you're looking for a natural high, try one of those occasionally. I promise you, you'll feel it!
In ancient times the harvest was crucial. Was enough grown and harvested to support everyone through the coming year? Were
enough seeds saved for the coming year's planting season?
The Fall is a time for transition. In the coming days gardens will fade away, leaves will change color and drop to the ground. The
mugginess will slowly disappear from the air. It will be a little more comfortable outside sitting on the porch in late afternoon.
Especially if your sitting out there shelling peas. And soon you'll feel the briskness, the cool little nip in the early morning air. The
circle of life is almost complete again.
The Fall Equinox is celebrated as a harvest festival! It is a time for feasting and visiting with friends both old and new. Old friends
you've known all your life and new friends you've made over the year. And with the feasting and visiting the weather is perfect for a
bonfire! Of course while enjoying your selves around the bonfire you'll want to do a little sample tasting of the years vintage! Making
wine is something everyone can do with almost any fruit. Just order a copy of our wine making video. Bottle it in simple fruit jars or if
you prefer, a fancy decorative bottle. There's nothing like the taste of home made wine that you made! You'll enjoy it!
Decorations made of corn, squash, vines and pumpkins on your front door or front porch say a warm welcome to all.

UFO Spotted In The Sky Over
Horseshoe Bend National Military Park
On Tuesday March 20, 2007, a UFO was caught on film, or should we say on
digital camera, at the National Military Park at Horseshoe Bend. The park is
located between Newsite and Dadeville, Alabama, on Highway 49. Photo was
snapped around 2 PM that afternoon.
To the left in the photos, is the bridge that crosses the Tallapoosa River in the
Park. The rock piles in the river are the remains of an old covered bridge that
once crossed the waters.
Several photos were made of the scenery here. There is a boat launch here, as
well as a picnic area, and fishing area. This was the only photo a UFO appeared
in. Those who were making the photos at the time heard no sound such as
planes, helicopters, or jets at the time. They also did not see the UFO until later
Tuesday night when they downloaded the photos into their computer.
Horseshoe Bend has been the location of other paranormal sightings over the
years. Black jets and black helicopters have been seen in the area in the past
flying very close to the ground. There have been photos of orbs taken on the
bridge to the left. Both under the bridge and on top. Our paranormal team has
received numerous reports of ghost sightings inside the park area. On several
occasions the sighting reports have matched previous reports, sometimes years
apart!
One very interesting report came about 3 years ago. (We will be as vague as
possible in case someone else reports a sighting that matches). A man saw an
Indian in the park walking in a certain area. The Indian had what appeared to be
a blanket. The blanket was black or very dark blue, we'll tell you that. There was
a certain unmistakable mark on the blanket.  Then a few weeks ago we received
a report from a woman, who was in the same area and saw an Indian with a
black blanket that had the same marking as the one 3 years earlier. The sightings were about 3 years apart. Height and size of the Indian was
identical. Location was the same, time of year almost the same. Time of day, within 2 to 3 hours.

Enlarged  View...................................
Photo at right shows an enlarged picture of the object. Craft appears to be oblong
shaped. Black. There seems to be a reflection of the sun off the top part of object.
Upon close inspection of photo and object in photo, there looks to be something under
the right bottom side that is hanging down. This could be something on the craft or
something being emitted by the craft.

Our Continuing Search For Bigfoot
Before the cold winds of winter swept our little corner of the world, a few of our paranormal team made a
trip to the area the Bigfoot/Sasquatch face was discovered a few weeks ago along the waters of Emucfau
Creek in Tallapoosa County Alabama. They didn't come away completely empty handed. Here are a few
photos made by the team over the Thanksgiving weekend.
This small tree appeared to be chewed
Bent sapling, always a good sign
Sasquatch has passed this way.
We think this is a possible bed for the
Sasquatch. Clearly something had
made a bed using the limbs fashioned
in a circular cover as well as a couple
other limbs to cover it.
Close-up of same tree
Close up of above tree, something has
clearly been walking under this bent
tree. The bark was well rubbed off to
the point the tree was slick!
Another very good sign of
Sasquatch. The snapped tree. We
believe this to be a trail marker
Although hard to tell in this photo, this is a large
track. Several more were discovered in the area.
Bigfoot or Sasquatch is still out there some where. Hiding, lurking, watching as we invade his homelands. We'll get
a photo of him someday. We wont give up. We will give up most part for the winter, the outdoors is a little cool this
time of year, especially at night.
If you have photos similar to these, send us an email, we'll put them on here and give you credit.

The Lady In White
The Lady In White is well known among the suthrn girls! She has been spotted at several different
locations around Wadley and vicinity. She has been seen by several. She always turns up
unexpectedly. She has been seen riding in vehicles with people. In fields. Walking down path ways.
Walking down roads. She always wears her white funeral shroud. She has blond hair. She appears to
be in her early twenties. No matter if the wind is blowing or not, her garments softly and quietly flow.
As she walks, she looks toward the ground. Almost always, she looks to the ground. Seldom does her
eyes gaze at you. She has a beautiful face, but her expression is sad, so very sad.
One of the first people who saw her spotted her in a truck with a man. It was about an hour after dark.
The man pulled into this womans driveway. The woman was expecting him. She walked onto the
porch and asked him who he'd brought with him.  He was surprised at her question and asked what she was talking about. She then told him
there was a young blond woman sitting in the seat next to him. The man looked back, he saw nothing. Then his friend came down from the porch.
When she looked again, the lady in white was gone. The man questioned his friend about the 'lady' he'd unknowingly brought with him. This is
what his friend told him.
"She sat very close to you. Shoulder to shoulder. When the porch light shined on to her face, i could see she was in love with you! She looked
infatuated. She had long blond hair and was very pretty."
And so was the start of many, many sighting of this specter. From time to time she appears again. But she is a sad spirit. So sad that many
people say they actually feel the overwhelming sadness she generates themselves.
You can read other true ghostly tales of our haunted little town in 'The Ghosts of Wadley' book.
It is on the 'Items For Sale' page of this website.
